Palm Springs/Coachella Valley is already known as an entertainment hot spot, and things got even hotter when the Acrisure Arena opened in December 2022 in Thousand Palms. Acrisure Arena is a multipurpose venue that has a capacity of more than 11,000 and hosts concerts, professional ice hockey, and many other events.
Acrisure Arena has already hosted world-class concerts in the few months it has been open, with many more to come. Palm Springs has long been one of the favorite playgrounds of the Hollywood elite as well as other celebrities, and Acrisure Arena has expanded that footprint in the entertainment and sports world. While the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach country music festival have been staples for years at the outdoor Empire Polo Club, the addition of the Acrisure Arena fills a void for year-round indoor sports and entertainment.
Acrisure Arena was ultimately designed for hockey and concerts, but it will be perfect for many other events over the years, helping assure that people who live in the Coachella Valley have musical acts and events come to them rather than them having to make the drive into the Los Angeles area or San Diego. Acrisure Arena has all the top amenities and hospitality for both fans and performers.
Living in the desert
Great location
Key facts
The arena was designed by world-renowned sports architect Populous and is owned by the Oak View Group. The $290 million cost was privately financed, meaning the project was built at no expense to Riverside County taxpayers. It will create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs, which will help strengthen the local economy. Acrisure Arena has modern luxury suites available for all events, as well as four premium hospitality clubs that can be used by 920 premium and suite ticket holders. The financial technology company Acrisure paid an undisclosed sum in a 10-year naming rights deal.
Hockey
Some people might wonder how an ice hockey team can flourish in the middle of the desert. The Palm Springs area has many residents who spend their winters in the warm desert sun or have relocated from other places in the country, thanks to the great real estate services offered by DW & Associates. Some of these new residents are hockey fans who will spend many nights at Acrisure Arena cheering for their local team while enjoying the fast-paced and exciting game of hockey. Acrisure Arena includes an adjoining community ice skating facility that is open to the public year-round and will allow the Firebirds to train when the arena is being used for other purposes.
Concerts
Having a multi-use arena also means that residents will be treated to diverse events such as Stars on Ice, Cirque du Soleil, and even Monster Trucks. Acrisure Arena will bring other large events to the Coachella Valley, such as conventions, trade shows, large meetings, awards shows, and international events.
