Marrakesh Country Club
Marrakesh Country Club is a 155-acre guard-gated community in South Palm Desert commissioned in the late 1960s by famed Southern California developer Johnny Dawson.
The community’s design was inspired by Dawson’s own love for golf and his experience as a serviceman in Morocco during World War II.
Through the years, Marrakesh has been home and playground to many famous names, earning it the nickname “Jewel of the Desert.”
It offers the perfect desert lifestyle with:
- Spectacular views of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains
- Pristine natural surroundings
- An 18-hole executive golf course
- Excellent amenities
- Beautiful homes
The architecture at Marrakesh Country Club is the perfect blend of John Woolf’s Hollywood Regency and midcentury modern design. Both these styles are currently making a big comeback, lending well to modern furniture and lifestyles.
The Moroccan influence is also prominent in Marrakesh Country Club homes.
The fusion of these styles has resulted in features that include:
- Private courtyards
- Spacious rooms
- Large glass windows
- Bright exteriors
In addition to single family homes, luxury condos are also available in four models, with sizes ranging from 1,600 to 2,800 square feet.
Golf and other amenities
Marrakesh Country Club’s beautifully-landscaped 18-hole executive golf course is sprawled on 3,614 yards of land and was designed by well-known golf architect Ted Robinson, ASGCA.
The Moroccan-themed clubhouse is just as famous as the golf course. It offers a great view to go with a fine dining experience and relaxing drinks at the patio.
The clubhouse also hosts 14 swimming pools and several spas.
In addition to the golf course, the community also boasts excellent tennis courts and croquet lawns.
With all the amenities available to them, Marrakesh residents and club members enjoy a wide variety of social and sporting activities all year round.
Ideally located in the middle of South Palm Desert, Marrakesh is just minutes away from nearby attractions that include:
- El Paseo Shopping District
- The McCullum Theatre
- South Palm Desert hiking and biking trails
- Old Town Palm Springs
